Bahhareh Karimi

Berlin, Germany

ÏMAIMA is where Berlin’s creative pulse meets the rich craft heritage of Jaipur. Founded and directed by Bahhareh, the brand is a heartfelt exploration of women’s stories, identity, and cultural connection—translating these themes into modern silhouettes adorned with intricate Middle Eastern and Indian hand embroidery. Each collection is designed in Berlin, drawing inspiration from the city’s art, history, and diversity, while the soul of every garment is brought to life by skilled artisans in Jaipur. At the core of IMAIMA is a devotion to craftsmanship and ethical practice. Every piece is hand-embroidered, azo-free dyed, and made from handwoven fabrics—produced in limited quantities to ensure exclusivity and minimize waste. Leftover materials are repurposed into smaller styles or future collections, and the brand’s supply chain is built on close, long-term partnerships that provide sustainable livelihoods and foster community growth in Jaipur. Bahhareh’s journey began in her father’s small Berlin fashion store, where her fascination with textiles and untold stories took root. Today, IMAIMA is a testament to her belief that empowered women create empowered legacies. The “Meet the Makers” initiative shines a light on the craftspeople—like Surendra, Ali, Mukeen, Manju, and Rajni—whose skill and dedication transform every design into a wearable work of art. For those who crave fashion that’s as meaningful as it is beautiful, IMAIMA offers more than clothes: it’s a bridge between worlds, generations, and stories—woven with care, and designed to be cherished.
