Begüm Paris is a brand rooted in the rich tradition of French shoemaking. The story begins in 1990 in Fougères, one of France’s last historic centers of footwear craftsmanship, where a dedicated workshop was founded by a pair of patrons and a master artisan from Harel. This atelier became renowned for haute couture shoes, producing custom pieces for legendary houses like Chanel and Louboutin. The Parisian connection deepened when creators Primerose Bordier and Barbara Wirth shaped the Delage style, opening the first boutique near the Luxembourg Gardens for a discerning clientele. Over the decades, the workshop continued to thrive, moving to La Bazouge-du-Désert and maintaining a commitment to traditional, hand-finished luxury. In 2013, a new generation took the reins: Héloïse—raised in the art of elegance by her mother—joined forces with her cousin Sarah, a designer with a flair for color and form. Together, they dove into the archives to create inventive, accessible lines inspired by the family’s heritage and their grandmother, “Bégum”—an avant-garde artist and world traveler whose spirit infuses the brand. Every pair of Begüm Paris shoes is made in France, hand-cut and sewn in their atelier, using carefully selected leathers for legendary comfort. The boutiques, including their address in the Palais-Royal gardens, invite clients to personalize their favorite models from an endless palette of colors and materials. The brand’s ethos is one of quiet luxury, timeless Parisian chic, and a dedication to the art of shoemaking—far from fleeting trends, always rooted in savoir-faire.
