Livia
Lucerne, Switzerland
Livia Naef designs clothing for people who want their wardrobe to feel calm, considered, and genuinely sustainable. Working from her studio in Lucerne, she develops design, patterns, and prototypes herself, then has each piece sewn in small quantities by Swiss family-run manufacturers like Schuler Manufaktur and Punto 301. The focus is on timeless, minimalist silhouettes that can be worn across seasons and occasions—quietly elegant pieces that mix and match with ease and are made to last for years, not trends. Sustainability is woven into every decision: Livia uses certified European fabrics made from natural, biodegradable fibers such as linen, hemp, organic cotton, organic wool, and Tencel, deliberately avoiding plastics. Many garments are fully compostable, down to the buttons, labels, and thread, with details like corozo or recycled horn buttons and Cradle to Cradle-certified organic cotton yarn. Whenever possible, she works with existing materials like vintage Swiss linen and silk, sometimes naturally dyed with food waste and plants. The result is a collection that feels both refined and grounded—understated pieces for all sizes, created with a rare level of transparency, local craftsmanship, and care for resources.
