Inhee Ma

Paris, France

Inhee Ma, founder of INI Ceramique, makes stoneware that feels drawn and carved from air—quiet forms with graphic surfaces. The studio leans on trompe-l’œil (French for “deceive the eye”): lines and shadows make flat glaze read like inked sketches or layered material, sharpening perception. It also channels wabi-sabi (Japanese for “beauty of imperfection”): subtle asymmetry, raw textures, and the maker’s hand that age well—not showroom-new. The result is minimal, not sterile: vases and tableware with quiet attitude, crafted in small series, made to be used until the patina becomes part of the design.
